I’m lucky enough to be a student and friend to pro skateboarder Neal Mims. I was at the Grand Opening of his new skatepark – Academy Skatepark on April 2, 2016.
Even though I was working – I had fun. There’s something for everyone.
As part of the Grand Opening – Sambazon Cafe & Bull Taco were also there.
The park is now open daily – I’d love if you shared your pictures & stories with the blog. I’ll keep you posted on upcoming events – I had so much fun last Thursday at the Free Skate Clinics – the future is very bright – thanks Neal Mims for spreading #yesyoucan. 
Skateboarding is sport and art plus fun exercise. Marcelachicolli shares this video. It’s just one of her rad pictures that show #girlscanskate – skateboarding is one of the most fun exercises out there. Don’t believe it’s exercise – than you haven’t skated – it’s an incredible core workout plus aerobics. Think of it as rolling yoga on caffeine!
And after just helping at Academy Skate Park I can assure you helping is a workout – running with the skateboard ?
Jacinta is 7 and already loves dropping in. Here she is at Tugun Skate Park in Australia. When I looked up the park I read that it’s an older park that mostly consists of half pipes, banks, and quarters with little street but a new upgrade has dramatically increased the rating of the park. The refurbished consists of a pool style bowl with stairs, banks, rails, and ledges. skatespots.com.au
The pool & sky look beautiful to me – I’m so glad Jacinta shared it with us. More girls do skate as they see stylish girls skateboarding and stylish girls always encourage more girls to skate!
