I’m a loyalist to Triple 8 because I’ve worn their helmets for years and know they work. I needed extra motivation to work on roller skating more – so I ordered a new helmet in a jaunty color.

After testing my helmet while skateboarding, I was ready to put on my roller skates.

After many hours at the park, I’m excited to say I can finally roller skate some ramps and do shoot the duck.

Here’s the truth about my roller skating – I fall all the time and usually land on my head.  I’m not sure why because when I fall skateboarding, it’s sometimes on my head, but not all the time.  My roller skates are heavy so you’d think I’d land feet down, but my experience has been head first.

After all the falls, I am 110% sure the Triple 8 helmet works! I’m also sure that anything you want is worth working for. Falling is not a pleasant feeling, but it can hurt less with safety gear. Learning the life lesson that falling is not failing will help you on and off your wheels.

What are your tips to keep it safe & stylish?  You only get one head so we should all wear helmets more!

In skateboarding like life there are things that can slow you down.  An injury can keep you off your board.  But only you can keep yourself down. Your attitude and how you face falling and any other setbacks really will make the difference on what you accomplish.

The patience and persistence that you learn through skateboarding helps you face any adversity. As I’m entering the last week of Chemistry, I know that facing it with a positive attitude and an ability to try new ways to learn the material saved me.

You can do this! Maybe you can’t do it this minute, but if you keep at it you can do it!

Thanks to all the girls like Hailey who keep on trying & encourage others to do the same. Positivity and encouragement grow so keep sharing.

I recently was tasked with a school assignment for my Personal Fitness Class – explain how roller skating can improve your fitness and how you can get rolling.  Below are the slides I shared with my class.

I love that Mäe? shares her journey – both the good and the bad. So many times with social media people only share their highs. It can make others feel less than because how can “she” always be winning and having a perfect life.

Perfection is a myth!  In order to succeed (live a happy life & chase your dreams) you have to be willing to fall and willing to get back up and try again.

If you want to inspire others to try skateboarding or anything else, share your journey.  Share your entire journey. There is joy in learning because falling is not failing. The persistence you learn on the board will help you throughout life.

Whether it is skateboarding or something else, I wish everyone has something that makes them smile.

Life can be stressful.  For my little brother right now it’s school.  He is  writing finals, finishing a huge project and I just wish he had something that could take him away from all of his troubles like I have skateboarding.

“Playing” is never a waste of time – taking a break is what can reenergize you. So yes, get out that skateboard, go smile, and then comeback to face whatever you have to face!

Face life with a smile because your positive attitude can make tasks easier.

In school I’m learning French, so I’m trying to practice my French and was excited to see @oceanedube_sk8 having so much fun skateboarding outside – despite the snow and inside.
