Skating Fashionista on a mission to promote both skate boarding & fashion!

The Problem is Not Monday

?O problema não é a segunda-feira, é a sua vida inteira ?

On the board or off – she kayaks, rock climbs, shoots arrows & so much more – I love Blenda’s aka @blendacunha style & think she has more fun than problems on all days.

You can just tell she’s having fun!

She’s having fun skateboarding in Brazil – where are you having fun?  When you share your pictures & stories you inspire other girls to give skating a try.

Your Wave Will Come

I love this video from @minishak27 and I really love the positive message in her bio

??Stay strong, Stay positive and never give up, Your wave will come ???

It’s so true.  Waves come and not always when you expect them or how you’d like them.  If you keep a positive attitude and keep believing in yourself you’ll survive all the waves and be ready for your wave.

Opportunity isn’t always obvious.  Often you have to take risks and/or make sacrifices both of which are easier with a positive attitude.

Cat’s in the UK where she’s skating to help with her surfing.  Where are you having fun skating?  Hope you take the time to share so others can be inspired to try.

Late Nights & Good Times

Skateboarding isn’t the first thing that comes to my mind when I think

Late Nights & Good Times

however, after seeing Tessa’s picture – I need to rethink!

Tessa is a Colorado native who seeks adventure daily.  I aspire to be an adventure seeker and love to see when other girls are living an adventurous life.

Living in California, I don’t see snow often.  Tessa does above at Saint Mary’s Glacier in Colorado.

My idea of meditating high up is my roof.  Tessa’s view is better from Horseshoe Bend in Arizona.

What path are you on?  Wherever your adventures are leading you, I hope you share like Tessa did.

We can’t all go everywhere – but when we share our adventures we get a glimpse of all the wonderful places there are in the world.

Ashdod Skater Girls

Ashdod Skater Girls share this fun video.  They are a small group of Israeli girls who love skating and have fun in their skatepark!

Kawabanga?

Where are you having fun?

Whether you’re skating at the park or downtown

more girls skate when they see girls skating and meet other girls to skate with.

Hope you share your pictures, videos, and stories soon.

Thanks Ashdod Girls – you may be a small group now but I think more girls are coming!

Neringa Skateboarding in Lithuania

I love blogging about girls skateboarding around the world.  This is Neringa and she’s in Lithuania.

I had no idea where Lithuania was or that it was beautiful or that you might find Cinderella’s carriage there.

Above Neringa visited Raudondvario Dvaras.  Thank you so much Neringa for showing us girls are skating in Lithuania and all the beautiful places there are in Lithuania and in the surrounding countries – check out her IG to see the slopes & beaches.

Girls can skate and more do when they see girls around the world having fun skateboarding.  Where are you skateboarding?

She’s in Love with her Arbor Board & Life

Love Poliana’s smile & her caption

I’m in love ?

I got to ask Poliana what she loves about skateboarding

For me skating means freedom, when you discover that overcoming fear can bring so much joy, it’s powerful! Skating is so good for the mind and body! Spread the word and love! ??❤️????

Balancing the mind & body is key to a happy life.  Check out Poliana’s IG for more good advice like

The healthy body will come when you use the right tools . . . exercising with walking, biking, skating, surfing, swimming, running, kicking, posing with yoga!  Do what give you a warm feeling in your heart!  I choose happiness!

Thanks for sharing from California Poliana.  Where are you having fun skateboarding and how does it help you stay balanced & happy?  Hope you share soon.

Tavia Skateboarding with Style in San Diego

I saw this video on my friend Ira’s IG and had to follow up with the skatergirl.

She’s Tavia aka @tav.wave and here’s what she had to share about skateboarding.

Skating is so much fun.  No matter how much you progress you make, there’s always more to learn and that’s what I love about it.

I used to be sort of intimidated to go out and skate.  Not just because of getting hurt but because I felt like it was a mans sport.  I realized when I started to actually go out and do it that NO it’s not just for boys.

Any girl who wants to shred can do it you just gotta go out and try it. It always makes me super stoked to see females out there killing it!

Thanks for sharing Tavia & inspiring me to skate more at Clairemont.   Hope to meet you soon.

Where are you skateboarding & who’s helping you?  Fun, skateboarding, life was meant & is better when shared so hope you share soon.

Evening Cruise with Ashley

Evening Cruise with Ashley.  I got the chance to ask Ashley how she feels about girls skateboarding.

I’m actually new to skating.  I bought a longboard several months ago after my husband suggested it on a whim.  He was just getting back in to skateboarding . . . and the rest is history!

We live in a rural town, with nothing to do and not much of a social scene.  Which is why having hobbies are a must.  When we are not out rock climbing, we skate.

Some days I just cruise and listen to music and other days I take myself to a little concrete pad near my house and practice tricks or riding switch.

Lately, I’m trying to practice an ollie on a skateboard.  I really like the challenge of learning something new.  I don’t pressure myself, it’s just a super fun hobby.

I know athletics aren’t every girls thing, but if it is, I think it does amazing things to their self confidence.

Girls new to skating don’t need to be embarrassed or feel like they aren’t allowed at a skate park.  People generally don’t care and in fact they usually respect those that try and work hard.

Yay Girls!

Thank you so much for sharing Ashley.  You skate & rock climb with such style.  I love the heart sunglasses and how you got a board and just went for it.

If opportunity strikes and you want to skateboard, be like Ashley and give it a try.  I’ve always believed better to be the girl who doesn’t skate because she doesn’t like it than the girl who doesn’t skate because she was afraid to try.

Wherever you are hope you’re having fun on & off the board and that you share soon!

Skateboarding with her Sidekick

I love pictures of girls sharing skateboarding, so you know I love the pictures like Laura’s above where she’s with her sidekick.

Love the caption too

My side kick….I love this girl to the moon and back….and she is just so fun and willing to do anything with me???

Be daring in life & trust the ones you love.  Adventures are best with loved ones and you don’t have to go to far from home to have them.

Where are you skateboarding and who are you having fun skateboarding with?  Hope you share like Laura did.

Skateboard Marathon in San Diego

Blogging about girls who have fun distance skateboarding – like Danielle & Dekai – got me interested in knowing more.  Turns out there’s a skateboard marathon event in my “backyard” – San Diego.

The Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon is coming up on Saturday November 11th.  It starts early 6:30am.  Skaters have 3 hours to skate six laps totaling 26.2 miles.

The race is on Fiesta Island in Mission Bay.  There are several divisions including SUP (Stand Up Paddle) and all ages are welcome.  Plus new this year there’s a Costume Division with 1st, 2nd, & 3rd prizes for best costumes.

The island is closed to traffic including bikes during the race.  Helmets are mandatory and pads are optional.  Entry fee for Adults is $45 and for kids under 11 the fee is $25.

To find out more check out their web site www.adrenalinastore.com.  I had the opportunity to ask Pablo Lanatta from Adrenalina some questions on how to get ready for the marathon.

Is there a training plan?

Pablo:  This is a good question because everyone is different, and has different ways of training, but we recommend to skate on a regular basis, at least 2-3 times a week.  Find a trail that you are comfortable and skate approximately 8-10 miles each time.  Once in a while go longer, but don’t over do it that you get burned, start slow, build your endurance. Practice sprinting.

Can you go to Fiesta Island & practice or normally is it for cars only?
Pablo:  Yes, you can skate the island, please wear a helmet and stay to the right of the road and look out for bicycles that are training as well.
Are there training groups?
Pablo:  Closer to the summer, we organize meetings at fiesta Island to train for the marathon, but we can do this at any time, just let us know and we can post a meeting on facebook.
Is there a course map?
What happens if you can’t finish in 3 hours?
Pablo:  We have city permits that allow us to close the road to Vehicles and Bicycle traffic for 3 hours, if you need more time you may continue but must be aware of cars on the road.  We prefer you stop for safety reasons.

Thanks Pablo – I’m definitely thinking about training and I love how Adrenalina builds such a strong & fun skate community.
Hope everyone checks out the marathon & all the fun events leading up to & after the marathon.
