Following up on my post from October 3rd where I asked Linda questions regarding the building of the Solana Beach Skate Park, I dropped by their event on October 9th.
They explained how phase 1, the skate park would look and their progress on raising funds. Above I’m with Chris from the City Council.
Below is Linda, who’s leading the charge for building the skate park with her daughter Shelly and Alec from the Tony Hawk Foundation.
The park is dog friendly – below my winner for cutest dog. There were several vendors – my favorites offering refreshments.
I saw a lot of people come out to find out more and enjoy the park.
Some tried skateboarding for the first time
and others were skating the basketball court on temporary ramps
Plus there were raffles, thanks to the generous product donations. And yes there was a skateboarding dog – he was too fast for my mom to get a picture.
At 2pm there was an Ollie Contest
Be sure to follow Solana Beach Skate Park on IG and Facebook to find out who won and see their progress. To make a donation to their Go Fund me click below
Thanks to Linda, here are a few more pictures from Sunday
And the skateboarding dog is Bamboo Skates below a video of him cruising Solana Beach.
From the City of Solana Beach we have these shots – from the contest
and of the band and when KUSI came out
It really was a day for people to get informed
and skateboarders to start having fun at the park!
If you have pictures to share just let me know. There’s always room for more!
