When Someone’s Headed on an Adventure

Screen shot 2015-07-17 at 10.13.11 AM

When someone tells you they are headed on an adventure . . .  You have choices like you can ignore them, try to talk them out of it (could be scary), make fun of them (it’s irresponsible), wish them luck, or encourage them to enjoy the journey.

Adventurevision told me she’s starting an adventure – I’m choosing to encourage her.  Encouragement is like gratitude – you think its for someone else but it’s really for both of you.

Encouraging you all to pursue your adventures on & off the board!

When is June 21st a Winter Day?

flo australia

It was a perfect winters day for #goskateboardingday. I gathered my courage and left the ‘burbs for the city sidewalks and squares. Was great to see other skaters out shredding too.  Florence Lang

June 21st is a winter’s day when you’re in Australia.  The winter season in Australia is from June – August.  Once again skateboarding encouraged me to learn something new.

Having an open mind and willingness to learn new things is always stylish.  Till next time keep it rad on & off the board like Florence does in Adelaide, South Australia.

Whole New World and She’s Loving It

day 2

Day 2:  she couldn’t wait to get home to ride.  She’s already asked that we build a ramp in the backyard.  – itsmeemilee

When I asked mom if I could share – she said YES and that skateboarding has opened a whole new world for her & she’s loving it!

Skateboarding really has opened so many doors for me – I may never win a competition and that’s ok because skateboarding has taught me self-belief.  I have the courage to try new things – the strength to keep trying – and the maturity to be happy with who I am.

As the shirt says The Struggle is Real –  keep it stylish on & off the board!

Where in the World is Alice?

alice hong kong skate with dad

Alice is skateboarding in Mei Foo Skatepark, Hong Kong.

She’s skateboarding with her dad and hoping other girls will come.  I’m confident more girls will come because I believe more girls skateboard when they see girls skateboarding and how much fun they are having.

Until they show – Alice keep shredding – stay true to your passions that’s always stylish and makes you a trendsetter.

Can you Find a Skater Girl?

blonde

Her bio reads –  Lacy Miller My name is Waldo, holla if you find me! In love with my skateboard! Currently riding for @sure_industries

I’m glad we found her and I’m thrilled that it keeps getting easier to find skater girls because everyday there’s more.

I skate and want other girls to skateboard because it’s fun.  Fun like love is something you feel.  If you feel love for your skateboard like Lacy – I bet you’re having fun – keep it that way!

Gratitude is Stylish

shoeless with God

I forgot to bring my shoes, but God gave me a heart as strong as a powerful legs that broke the silence in the crowd, sometimes only need a powerful heart to pass through the streets and challenge…. – sukmawatiayu

You can choose to be thankful for what you have or jealous for what you don’t have.  Actions are the same way – you can go out and enjoy or sit and complain.

Gratitude looks good on everyone on & off the board – now get out there and enjoy this beautiful Sunday!

Experience the Journey

friends

Bianca’s bio reads life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.

If you face life like a problem you are always working on how to fix it – you aren’t satisfied with what it is.  If you face life like an experience you can enjoy it for what it is.

Life isn’t a destination – it’s a journey – so enjoy it on & off the board.

Passing the Torch & Saving Lives

pass the torch to niece

Yes, it’s fun to skateboard and it’s even more fun to skateboard with others.   Stacy is sharing the fun of skateboarding or as she says passing the torch with her niece.

Skateboarding really can be a light in your life.  I’ve seen posts saying Skateboarding Saved My Life.  Which seems weird because so many people think skateboarding is dangerous – life is dangerous.  Skateboarding is more than physical – it’s emotional and can be spiritual so if skateboarding can make you feel better physically, emotional, and perhaps spiritually well then it really could save and definitely improve your life.

Keep it stylish this weekend – sharing & encouraging others on & off the board.

All Around the World

elephant hat hongkong

All around the world you can find girls skateboarding for fun.  This is Mitsuki1122 skating in Hong Kong’s  Tsing Yi Park. The park is as incredible as Misuki’s style.

Have to agree with Brit & Iggy:

All around the world, pretty girls
Wipe the floor with all the boys
Pour the drinks, bring the noise
(It’s Iggy-Iggs!)
We’re just so pretty!
All around the world, pretty girls
Jump the line, to the front
Do what we like, get what we want
(Where you at, Brit?)
We’re just so pretty!

Skateboarding When It’s Popular and When It’s Not

Anitaesse is skateboarding at Iseo Lake in Italy.  She’s been skateboarding since 2001 and when she’s not on her board she’s an artist and web manager.  I had to share this because she looks stylish and shows that girls can have fun skateboarding for years.

Screen shot 2015-07-08 at 9.55.42 AM

According to a recent  reports on the relative popularity of skateboarding as a Google search term.  In the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom search activity relating to skateboarding has decreased dramatically, virtually year-on-year since 2004 – source Love Extreme Sports May 6, 2013

Yes people have pointed to that data and other data as a reason why I should not pursue my mission of getting more girls to skateboard for fun.  My answer:  I don’t skateboard because it’s popular or to be popular.  I skateboard because I have fun and enjoy skateboarding.  I see girls like Anitaesse and I know there are other girls who feel the same way.

A skater skates when it’s popular and when it’s unpopular.  A skater encourages others to skate because they want to share the fun.  It’s never stylish to judge or exclude others on or off the board.
